Trunks worn by Holyfield vs Czyz

Fight Worn Equipment

Original white acetate satin boxing trunks worn by Evander Holyfield for his fight against Bobby Czyz in 1996. The trunks have been signed “Holyfield/ 2 Cor 5:7” in black marker.

The fight between Evander Holyfield and Bobby Czyz was held on May 10, 1996, at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.

Holyfield (31-3, 22 KOs) was fighting for the first time since losing the rubber match to Riddick Bowe in November of 1995.

Holyfield stopped Czyz, a former Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight title-holder, before the sixth round started. Czyz complained to his corner when the fifth round ended that his eyes were burning. Dr. Rufus Sadler examined him and verified a vision problem. Unable to see, the fight was stopped as Holyfield was declared the winner via TKO.
